The national competition organized for the service building of the Düzce Chamber of Commerce has opened the doors to a magical journey. This project stands out as a product of a design process that approaches public buildings with a modern and different perspective, boasting a spacious usage area of 20,000 m². Based on the concepts of place and structure, this project aims to establish a peaceful relationship with its surroundings, offering a welcoming space for people.
Each corner of the project consists of the combinations of mass elements with different characters, reflecting the functions onto the façade. These diverse mass structures not only provide visual richness but also strengthen the architectural language by distinguishing themselves as materials, highlighting the functions. The exposed concrete texture used in the building creates a contemporary architectural language, while the wooden panels preferred in the office sections serve a dual purpose: controlling sunlight and softening the concrete texture, thereby playing a balancing role with a sense of warmth.
All textures used in the façade are felt within the interior spaces, ensuring the adoption of a holistic architectural language; thus, from the outside, a unified and harmonious appearance of the structure is presented. This design, where every detail has been meticulously considered, manifests the architects' imagination, evoking emotions in everyone who encounters it.
The D.T.S.O. project transcends the notion of merely being a building, serving as a rebellion against the cold and standard identity of public structures. This project aims to create a warm environment by establishing connections among people, guided by a communal understanding. As a significant step in our journey, this building is an exemplary model of contemporary public architecture.
